It is a Augmented Reality helmet that was launched in 2016 at CES Event. Mainly designed to work in work environment.
How does it work?
It uses AR technolgy and is packed with a strong hardware support. It has three different types of cameras:
FLIR (thermal)
wide angle (AR tracking)
color (depth/image processing)
It also includes built-in speakers and uses Intel RealSense Technology that supports gestures for interaction.
It's custom Battery can last up to a day.
Also, it supports storage/recording capabiltity to record the sessions
DAQRI offers an API for developers to develop custom applications on it's custom OS called VoS
Why is it cool?
The helmet weighs just 1 kg and it's built with industrial grade material to be usable in heavy-industry. The AR tech enriched with sensors allows real-time updates to the wearer about the devices. Therefore, they need carry other devices with them. For e.g. they can use the thermal camera to get an estimate of a part of a machinery that is overheating.
Applications
Oil and Gas
Manufacturing
Heavy Industry
Military training
Medical Training
Skill Training
Simulator Sickness
It has a low simulator sickness of 1-2 because of the AR technology.
Pros and Cons
